This week's Spoonflower design challenge delved into the realm of Cartography, the age-old art of mapmaking. There's a timeless allure to maps that I've always been drawn to. While the precision of today's GPS-powered maps certainly facilitates exploration, there's a unique beauty intrinsic to traditional maps that I sorely miss.
Although I naturally gravitate towards abstract designs, the majority of my selections for this challenge were swayed by topographical and aerial perspectives.
Rising above the rest, my top pick for the week is "Aerial View Map" by karina_kamenetzky. This design embodies the essence of cartography – unmistakably a map, yet it leaves the specifics to one's imagination. The color palette, combined with its watercolor finesse, makes it a visual delight.
