As we approach the close of the year, it's time to reflect on the array of talent and creativity showcased in Spoonflower's weekly design challenges. Over the course of this year, I played judge for at least 45 contests (perhaps even more, as I admittedly lost count) and selected 64 designs as my personal favorites.
In a burst of ambition, I set out to distill these favorites down to a top 12, and ultimately, to an overall favorite design for 2023.
Selecting from such a rich pool was no easy task, but after much deliberation, here, in no particular order, are the 12 standout designs:

And the design that captivated me the most in 2023? Night of the Rabbit by rachelquinlan.
The beauty of this design is truly unforgettable, with its clever interplay of rabbits that are both everywhere and subtly integrated.
Looking back on all the designs submitted over the year, I am profoundly struck by the immense talent, dedication, and generosity of the designers who participate. Their contributions have not only enriched the Spoonflower community but have also brought a great deal of inspiration and joy not just to me but to many.
A heartfelt thank you to all the designers who put forth their work, continuously offering new perspectives and beauty to our everyday lives. Your creativity and passion are truly appreciated. I know there are changes afoot at Spoonflower, but I look forward to what is created in 2024!
