This week’s Spoonflower design challenge brought a playful twist with its theme: “Hide and Seek Wallpaper.” The goal? Craft a design with elements hidden within the motif. And let me tell you, peering into these designs felt like embarking on a mini treasure hunt!
Navigating through the initial batch was a bit of a challenge itself—those hidden gems were sometimes just too tiny to spot in the preview sizes. But, oh, the creativity on display! And yes, there seemed to be an unofficial “cat” theme running through many entries. I mean, who can resist hiding a few feline friends in their artwork?
Now, choosing a favorite this time around ended up in a delightful deadlock between two fantastic cat-centric designs:
“Spot the Cat” by dreamy_messanine: This one really gives Escher a run for his money, blending mind-bending optical illusions with playful artistry.
“Minimal Abstract Hidden Cats and Birds Surreal Landscape” by Dominique_vari: This design strikes a stunning balance reminiscent of both Japanese sand raking and cloud gazing. It’s all about spotting the hidden shapes, and it’s a serene, beautiful search.
Both of these designs not only nailed the theme but also captured my imagination and, apparently, my cat-loving heart. Next week will be a Create-Everyday Design Discover - "G is For..."
