It’s that time again for our weekly dive into the alphabet with Create-Everyday’s Design Discovery, and this week, we’re exploring “G is For…” The Google gods delivered us some fun prompts: garden, goat, giraffe, and gold medal. I dug  into Spoonflower to see what gems these words would unearth in the design world.

Here’s the scoop:

• Garden blossomed with a whopping 10,000+ results, showing just how much we love our flora.
• Goat trotted in with 2265 results, offering everything from cute to quirky.
• Giraffe stretched out with 7756 results, showcasing those long necks in all kinds of artistic interpretations.
• Gold medal had only 40 results, and with the Olympics on the horizon, I was really rooting for this one to shine. Unfortunately, none of the designs quite made the podium this time. Maybe it’s a sign we need an Olympic-themed challenge?

Despite the low count on Olympic glory, two designs really stood out this week:

“Teal Shibori Giraffe” by jenk: This design is just stunning. The shibori effect on the giraffe pattern is so unique, and I’m already dreaming about adding some beading along those lines to jazz it up even more. Plus, that shade of blue (FYI - it comes in six other colors as well)? Absolutely gorgeous.

“Goat Yoga, Custom Medium Large Scale” by amy_g: Leave it to amy_g to blend goats and yoga in a way that makes you want to smile and shop at the same time. It’s irreverent, it’s fun, and yes, I’ve already snagged some of this fabric because how could I not?

What a week! “G” gave us some real creative gold (metaphorically speaking, since the actual gold medal category was a bit of a let-down).  Next week we are back at Spoonflower for Winter Holiday Patchwork - nothing like Christmas in July!
