Spoonflower Design Challenge
Alrighty! Last week, 7 out of the top 63 were designs I voted for - love it. Though I'm most likely to buy 'adventure in the garen' by paula_b_design.
This week's design challenge is Vintage Canned Goods, and I will be honest, I wasn't expecting much for my virtual fabric shopping. I was surprised, there were a number of entries that appealed to my modernist taste as well as some nice traditional interpretations.
I absolutely lovedAlex Morgan 's Slugs. Don't get me wrong, I almost always like what she does. But these slugs were a fav since she did them for one of the calendar challenges. I laughed when I saw them previewed on Spoonflower Fans.
The other one that really spoke to me was 'soup kitchen fare' by yogiyarntailandme.

UPDATE - WHAT I BOUGHT
I had a plan for a dress and needed two coordinating fabrics. My choice was inspired after taking a look at an article in Threads Magazine (Winter 2021 #216). There was a profile of Sandra Lee Chandler wearing a great geometric print.
This led me to Spellstone's Slug Collection highlighted in Spoonflower's Vintage Canned Goods Challenge. These slugs just make me laugh. And Sandra's sheath, gave me the courage to get Garden Variety Slug Grub Railroad for the main fabric and Midnight Feasting for the contrast. I bought the Modern Jersey.
